Re: 2007 TDV6 - Water Loss - Head and head gasket replacement or not. I agree with Landyluver, cylinder head service should be last resort. Water loss could be one of many things that need to checked e.g, radiator cap not holding the pressure, another common culprit is that plastic thermostat housing, viscous fan. The engines used in the Discovery 3 were all taken from Land Rover's sister company at the time, Jaguar. A Ford/PSA-developed 2.7-litre, 195 hp (145 kW), 440 Nm V6 diesel engine (the TdV6) was intended to be the biggest seller in Europe.
Hi Guys. I recently purchased my Discovery 3 and previously injectors were renewed. Now the Vehicle smokes excessively on idle and theres abit diesel smell in the smoke. I did the decat and Egr blank off and the smoke has gotten worse now. Please help as im running out of ideas as even injectors were tested again and came back clear. pm sent.
