Before I Googled "How to replace a Fiat Ducato starter battery" I was going to ask you guys "What the hell are all these terminals bolted on a plate connected to the positive battery post". Not only did Google answer this question for me it explained that disconnecting the battery could upset a whole bunch of electronics including the ECU.

1. Mar 31, 2020. #1. I have a 2008 3.0 ducato based motorhome that i have previously had throttle body issues with around 4 years ago due to water ingress. On that occasion i was able to cure the problem by removing the throttle body, freeing it up and packing with grease between the throttle body and actuator.

17. Feb 25, 2013. #1. Hi. My 2007 ducato 2.2 100 van sometimes makes a whirring noise instead of starting, then next turn it does start. Am i right in suspecting the starter or solenoid and how how difficult is it to change the starter motor in terms of access and location of bolts etc? Many thanks. T.

Hi, I have a 1993 Hymer on a Fiat Ducato 2.5TD. I foolishly left the oil filler cap off after topping up the oil and drove about 80 miles without noticing! Wont do that again ~ the engine compartment has a nice fine coating of oil along with some of the underneath and sides of the van
It's reasonable then to assume that the problem is in the electrical system and (as Fiat Ducato advises above) the prime suspect would be the relay that triggers step-retraction. But Marquis have had four goes at sorting this problem out, and as one might expect checking/replacing the relay to be the first approach to take, the fault may be
Jan 2, 2015. #1. Hello to everyone on motorhome fun. This is my first post and i'm looking for a bit of help/guidance. I have a 1990 fiat ducato 2.5td and the cold start relay doesn't seem to work as it should. When i turn the ignition on the light flicks on then off again and its tacking a lot of crancking to get her going these days.

1 Use a high pressure air blower to blow the rust and corrosion from the entire top surface of the engine compartment throughout the rest of the engine compartment. 2 Spray a corrosive rust and corrosion convertor over all surfaces including rubber seals hoses and fabric injector cables leave for 4 hours,

Maybe some experienced Ducato 1990 techs can help me to figure this out: When I turn the key to 'on', there is missing only - the headlights - the cockpit panel lights All other visible electrical appliances seem to work fine. When I turn the key to 'start', the starter motor works allright, but the engine doesn't come on.
